Make a Miniature Terrarium with plants, ferns and mini objects

Come along and create your very own open terrarium using plants, ferns and miniature objects. You will spend an hour and a half mixing the perfect soil, enjoy planting your chosen plants and decorating a glass container with unique miniatures. Led by international artist and co-curator of Urban Miniatures, Pam Glew.

The workshop will be held in the upstairs room of the Urban Miniatures exhibition where we will be surrounded by miniature art created by some of the country's leading urban and contemporary artists.

PaxtonGlew invites you to explore the totally gorgeous (and eco-friendly) Japanese Furoshiki wrapping technique. In this workshop you use fabric squares to wrap boxes and gifts, create a set of square fabric wrapping cloths to wrap gifts which can be used again and again. Learn basic block printing techniques and produce a number of unique wrapping cloths using everything from stamps, wood blocks, rollers to toy cars. A fun and festive workshop with all materials provided.

Christmas Wreath making workshop with bubbles and miniatures in Brighton Laines

Led by experienced workshop organiser Emily Paxton, you will learn the basics, from scratch, of how to make your own Christmas wreath whilst sipping some bubbles and decorating your wreath with mini things such as mini presents, toys and thimbles...anything of your choice really it’ll be up to you to personalise your wreath with the mini things we have available that will easily tie on to your wreath.

We will begin with adding foliage to our copper ring and then will slowly build up layers of more festive foliage and magic. We will provide you with the best range of materials and foliage so that everyone walks away with something totally unique. Bubbles and all materials will be provided. On completion Emily will assist in guiding you to photograph your creation using a mobile phone on a flat lay table top set up.
